Welcome to Riviera Sunbeds

Premier Hirer of Sunbeds in Doncaster Riviera Sunbeds of Doncaster have been in the Sunbed Hire business since 1990 hiring quality sunbed equipment to British Safety Standards in and around the Doncaster area of Yorkshire. Our Sunbed Hire fleet comprises, Elite Canopy Sunbeds, Elite Double Sunbeds and a range of Vertical Sunbed units fitted with the latest 0.3 compliant sunbed tubes. There is strict EU regulation governing the maximum UV output of sunbeds which Riviera Sunbeds adhere to for the safety of our clients. This is generally referred to as 0.3 and is approved by the EU and complies with all British and European consumer safety regulations.

A 0.3 tanning session delivers the same tanning effect as the mid-day Mediterranean summer sun but without the risk of burning. The legislation states that a sunbed UV irradiation must not exceed 0.3W/m2. A sunbed with a UV output above this level is deemed as 'unsafe'. Please rest assured all our home hire sunbed equipment complies with this regulation, and is manufactured in the UK.

Riviera Sunbeds are able to hire you a sunbed on the same day you book your sunbed, providing you are within 10 miles of Doncaster. A range of Sunbed tan accelerator creams and tanning oils are available in order that you can develop that perfect tan. Replacement sunbed tube service also available.

In addition to Sunbed Hire, Riviera Sunbeds offer for sale both brand new sunbeds as well as ex rental units from our sunbed hire fleet which offer excellent savings. 0.3 legislation

The Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010, came into force on the 8 April 2011 to help protect the most vulnerable by stopping under 18s from accessing sunbeds. Riviera Sunbeds are fully supportive of this legislation and was already promoting the refusal of hire sunbeds to Under 18's before the legislation was introduced.

Any business that supplies a sunbed for hire to a consumer needs to ensure they supply adequate instructions on the safe use of such equipment. The instructions would need to detail how to safely use the equipment, harm that can be caused from excessive use, that under 18's should not use the equipment and also that t he equipment needs to be appropriately marked with warnings.

In addition to this Sunbed Hire operators must ensure compliance with The European Standard (The General Product Safety Regulations 2005. BS EN 60335-2-27: Particular requirements for appliances for skin exposure to ultraviolet and infrared radiation) in which safe limits for UV radiance are stated, specifies a limit of 0.3 W/m2.

Well what does this mean?
Well essentially the regulations state that the 0.3 W/m2 maximum irradiance limit for UV tanning equipment is based on the opinion of the EU's Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP), and as a comparison it represents the intensity of the midday sun in the summer in the Mediterranean. In other words the safe limit is intended to match sunbed output to the maximum that human Caucasians have biologically evolved to deal with.
